I Am In Receipt of Your Awesome Favor

Grace, Mercy, and No Worries!

Have you ever left your purse someplace and just driven off without it? That happened to me just recently.

After a business meeting over coffee one morning, I picked up my bag with my computer and left my purse behind -- hanging on the back of a chair. When I realized it was missing, I'd already driven 3 miles from the place.

In the past I would have panicked. That sick, gnawing feeling in the pit of my stomach would have risen and probably even caused me physical pain. INSTEAD... I prayed.

“Please Lord; let my purse still be there and everything still be in it. I repent of having been distracted and careless. I thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. I go believing in the receipt of your awesome favor. As it's written in Philippians 4:6, I turn this over to you and will not worry about it any further.”

Not at any point in time did I feel distress. My mind was totally at peace. That realization alone was a great blessing for me that day. As expected, according to this faith walk, my purse was right where I left it. The two ladies sitting at the table right behind marveled, "You must be living right!" "Yes," I said. "That's what prayer can do."

For His Glory!
