Jesus is Lord!
The secret of the universe is in Him. He is Lord and He invites you to fellowship with Him.
John 1:11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (NKJ)
Eph 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (NKJ)
MANY PREACHERS TALK ABOUT “ACCEPTING CHRIST”, but it seems a more accurate term would be “receiving Christ”. The miracle is not that we would accept Him, but that He would accept us! In fact, the Scripture above teaches that we are accepted in the Beloved Son, meaning that God has accepted us into His family because we are in His Son. That’s the redemption He’s speaking of, and it was because of His rare and costly blood which was a demonstration of the riches of His grace, His gift to us! Your sins are forgiven. Do you believe it?
Notice from John 1, that you were born of the will of God. It was God’s will that you should come to know Him. It wasn’t your idea, it was His. Again, He loves you so much that He created a wonderful plan to redeem you, to buy you back for His own purposes. And it is by “receiving Him”, by receiving Jesus Christ as the only payment for your sins, that you have the right to be called a child of God.
So often, we mix up the cause-and-effect of this. Do you think that a person is “good” because their actions are good? Or isn’t it true that none of us are good in-and-of-ourselves and that it takes a good God to make us right and righteous through the new birth? When we receive Him, we are born-again, a new creation that never before existed!
